Nominations and Elections
Nominations
Nominations for positions with the UVICFA usually occur in advance of our Spring Annual General Meeting (AGM). However, if a position becomes vacant early, nominations can also occur before our Fall Ordinary General Meeting (OGM).
- A call for nominations is sent to all members a minimum of eight weeks in advance of a General Meeting
- Vacancies on the Executive Committee or the Standing Committees may trigger an interim election
- A Member may be nominated for any elected position with the signature of any two UVICFA Members, and the written consent of the nominee
- The names of the nominees will be announced in advance of the General Meeting, where further nominations from the floor will be accepted
Elections
Where there is more than one nominee for a vacant position an election (usually by electronic ballot) will occur within two weeks of the General Meeting or, in the case of an interim election, after the deadline for nominations has passed.
For more information on nominations and elections, please see our Bylaws.
If you are interested in putting your name forward for an elected position, please email us for a copy of the current Nominations Form.
