Faculty Association Receives Response to Divestment Letters

The Faculty Association has now received replies from the letters that were delivered to the University of Victoria Pension and Benefits Office, the Pension Plan Board of Trustees and the University of Victoria Foundation requesting that these bodies direct their respective fund managers to divest from fossil fuels. Faculty Association Delivers Letters on Fossil Fuel Divestment

In February of 2014, members of the University of Victoria Faculty Association introduced a motion regarding the divestment of fossil fuels.  The motion was subsequently voted on and approved by the general membership. Accordingly, the President of the UVic Faculty Association has now delivered letters to the University of Victoria Pension and Benefits Office, the Pension Plan Board of Trustees and the University of Victoria Foundation requesting that these bodies direct their respective fund managers to divest from fossil fuels.
